Hi, I'll be staying at AKL this December with my husband/boys and parents. My father will need a wheelchair at the parks due to mobility issues. Can we borrow a wheelchair at AKL and take it to a park or do the resort wheelchairs need to stay at AKL? Th

    Blanche:

December will be here before you know it.

The wheelchairs that you rent at the theme parks are for use only at the theme parks and must stay at the park upon leaving each day. If you think your father may need a wheelchair after you leave the park--the Animal Kingdom Lodge is very spread out--you may want to consider renting one for your entire trip. When renting for the length of your stay, you'll have it both for the parks and at the resort.

Disney recommends several on their website. I'd suggest calling each of them to find what may work best for you and your family.

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
