Hi, I am wondering if we should stay at a moderate or deluxe resort? We have stayed a a deluxe resort twice now. Is the extra money worth the location? What are the great moderate resorts? Thanks.

Hi Courtney!  Ahh, the age old dilemma between choosing either Deluxe or Moderate resorts.  Having stayed at both, I can definitely weight the yay and the nay of both.  Primarily, the Deluxe resorts offer greater square footage per room than the moderate resorts.  The Grand Floridian boasts 403 square feet per room, while Coronado Springs offers 314 sq feet per room.  Resort size is also a factor.  Caribbean Beach is an expansive resort, requiring its own internal bus system.  On the contrary, The Wilderness Lodge is all contained under one roof.  Transportation is key as well.  Clearly, the three monorail resorts are all deluxe category, meanwhile staying at Port Orleans would require either bus or boat launch options to access the parks. At the Deluxe resorts, the dining options are much more refined and upscale than at the moderate resorts. That being said, I think a phenomenal counter service option can be found at the Pepper Market at CS or at the Riverside Mill at POR.  So it all depends on what YOU are looking for in your Disney vacation.  I will say that I am somewhat partial to Coronado Springs Resort.  With the recent refurbishment of all their rooms, the resort definitely has an upscale feel to it, and the pool area is really phenomenal.  The price point for CS is a little higher than the other moderate resorts, but in my opinion well worth it. Moderate or Deluxe, the Disney difference is always ever present. -Malanie
