Hi I am wanting to plan a visit to Walt Disney World, Florida with my family. My teenager suffers with IBS so needs to be both Gluten and Dairy Free. Is this going to cause a problem?

    Hi Hannah!

I'm so excited to hear that you are planning a family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! My son has multiple food allergies, so I have quite a bit of experience accommodating a special diet at the theme parks, Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs. In our experience, the Chefs and Cast Members have always done an amazing job making sure my son has been able to have safe and tasty meals with the rest of the family. In fact, we have found that our entire family has been able to experience a wide variety of tasty meals during our vacations that wouldn't be possible at other restaurants at home!

The restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort take special care to ensure that Guests who are accommodating special diets are able to eat safely during a trip to visit Mickey Mouse. In general, all of the restaurants will be able to accommodate your teenager's gluten-free and dairy-free diet. While the restaurants offer allergy-friendly menus, they are organized by the specific food you are avoiding. So when you order at restaurants, you will need to ask to speak to a Chef or Manager to help your teen select a safe and tasty meal that they would like to enjoy.

Be sure to add your teen's special dietary requirements when you are making your dinings reservations. Also, if you would like some additional information about accommodating your teen's specific dietary requirements throughout Walt Disney World Resort, you can contact the Special Diet Team by emailing them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com.

Come back to see us if we can help you again as you continue planning! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
