Hi,I am planning to take a trip to disney in the 2nd week of august with my hubby and at that time 1 year old ds and i was planning to visit all the disney parks.I'm a light eater but my husband loves to eat,do you think we should get the ddp?

My family does not use the Disney Dining Plan. I find it too restrictive. When on vacation, I don't want to have to worry about whether our snack choices, etc. are included. I like vacation to be as worry-free as possible!

Can the DDP be a good value? It depends on your family.

To get the best value, you'll need to be using your meal and snack credits wisely. MouseSavers.com has some great tips on how to get the most for your money when dining with the DDP.

Your son is not eligible for the plan as it is only for children over age 3. One great advantage is that your child is free at character buffet meals!

A good way to find if the DDP is right for you is to look at the restaurants that you are considering for your meals. Visit AllEarsNet.com and look at the menus. Estimate what the cost would be if you were on the DDP or paying out of pocket.

I keep Excel spreadsheets of our Disney costs and have never been able to make the DDP seem sensible for our family. Families that dine at more than one table service meal each day would benefit more from the DDP. Also, I can imagine that with lots of big eaters (such as teenage boys) that the plan may make more sense.

    Enjoy!
