Hi, Am visiting in October, Need a scooter to move around instead of walking. Please explain the DAS program and if it applies to riding the attractions as well. Do I need to alert anyone at the resort and guest relations? Can do limited walking.

    Hello, Roberta!

The fall is my favorite time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. The weather is usually comfortable, and there are so many wonderful offerings to try at Epcot's Food and Wine Festival.

The Disability Assistance Service (DAS) is designed for Guests whose disability prevents them from waiting in a regular queue. Guests who only have mobility concerns typically do not need to use this service because most attraction queues can be easily navigated by Guests using a wheelchair or Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). If you feel that you need DAS or additional accommodations, you can speak to a Cast Member at any theme park Guest Relations Lobby, who will be able to offer assistance based on your specific needs.

Since you mentioned that you have limited walking, keep in mind that there are some attractions where you will need to be ambulatory or transfer to an attraction wheelchair before entering a ride vehicle. There are other attractions that will allow you to remain in your ECV to experience the attraction. The Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities page gives a detailed description of attraction access categories to help you prepare for your visit.

I hope this helps answer your questions. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. I hope you make many magical memories during your October visit!
