Hey Trish We will be going to ohana for dinner during our trip because my wife really really wants to go. I am not a fan of the items on the dinner menu so can I save my dining table service credit for a different night?? Thanks Dan

    Aloha, Dan!

'Ohana, at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, is one of the hardest dinner reservations to get on Walt Disney World Resort property, and their Bread Pudding à la mode has attained cult status! For my ravenous teenage boys, this is a must-do on each trip. One thing to note is the food here is served family-style, so everyone who sits at the table will be charged for the cost of the meal.

Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the Grilled Skewers, there's plenty to for me to eat, and I always roll out of here feeling stuffed. I'd encourage you to consider giving it a try.  The salad they serve as a first course was recently changed, and it now comes with a kale mix, crispy noodles, and a citrus dressing. I thought it was delicious, and I returned to the bowl for three helpings! The Teriyaki Noodles that come with the next course are my favorite carbs in all of Walt Disney World, and I have to admit that I almost ate my weight in Pork Dumplings.

If this still doesn't sound like your cup of tea (or should I say Mai Tai), then have a seat at the Tambu Lounge while your family dines. It's located right next to the restaurant, and they serve up island influenced appetizers and one of my favorite rum-based drinks, the Backscratcher (in case you're wondering, it actually comes with a bamboo backscratcher).

Another alternative for you is Capt. Cook's, which is a great Quick Service location at this resort. They have fantastic Thai Coconut Meatballs here, but they also offer traditional favorites like flatbreads and burgers. If you're not filled to the gills at this point, then head over to the Pineapple Lanai for a Dole Whip and a stroll on the beach (which is an excellent location to take in the Happily Ever After Fireworks).

A hui hou (until we meet again), Dan! We hope we see you here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel again soon!

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
