Hey. We will be staying in Boardwalk Villas in a few days. :) Our plans are to walk to the parks but when Epcot is closing at 10:00 and MK is closing at 12:00 am, is the bus the only way to get back, since we cant enter Epcot that late. Thanks

    Hi Shirley!

How exciting that your Walt Disney World vacation is just a few days away! I absolutely love the location of Disney’s Boardwalk Villas and we are booked there again next summer.

The magic of the Walt Disney World Resort truly comes alive for me at night. Strolling along the Boardwalk, viewing Illuminations at Epcot or walking down Main Street, U.S.A. become even more beautiful when the lights come on. To enjoy those magical nighttime hours at Magic Kingdom, you will need to use Disney’s complimentary bus transportation back to Disney’s Boardwalk Villas at night. While you will see the Monorail running late at night to take Guests to the parking lots, since Epcot will be closed, you would not be able to walk through the theme park to get to your resort.

My family has always used Disney’s bus system for our vacations and have found it easy to use. I do have an insider tip for departing the Magic Kingdom at the end of the night. The longest waits for the bus will occur directly after Wishes, Main Street Electrical Parade and official park closing as many Guests plan to leave after those events. If you can time your departure perhaps 30 to 45 minutes after those events, the line for the bus tends to be shorter. The shops on Main Street, U.S.A. stay open an additional hour after official park close, so my family likes to do what we call “shop our way out.” We skip the rush and enjoy shopping, picking up a late night snack at the Main Street Confectionery and a leisurely walk to the bus stop.

Have a great time next week, and happy packing!
