Family in Deluxe Villa Resort

Hey! Can you provide any ideas on how to turn a deluxe studio into 2 rooms to accommodate sharing a room with our 3yo? Trying to think of the best ways to create a room divider to help everyone get the most/best sleep possible!

    Hi Linley!

Part of the reason my family became Disney Vacation Club Members was to have a door between the grown-up and the children, so I understand the desire to give the baby a quiet area to themselves. It always seemed our little ones wouldn’t fall asleep if they could see us, and we couldn’t sit in the dark for hours waiting for them to fall asleep either!

Each Deluxe Studio will come equipped with a standard size pack-n-play. We kept our youngest in the pack-n-play longer than I thought we could and she did quite well in it. Depending on which resort you are staying at, you may be able to fit the pack-n-play into the bathroom of your Deluxe Studio, and this is what we sometimes did. For example, I know that it fits with plenty of room to spare in the larger bathroom in the Deluxe Studios at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. It should also fit well in the kitchenette area of the Deluxe Studios at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

The other idea I have would be to bring plastic suction cup hooks, and maybe a light piece of fabric to hang off the hooks to separate the bedroom area from the kitchenette and bathroom hallway. Admittedly, this seems like a bit of work, and it’s possible the suction cups might not stick to the walls if there was any texture on the walls, but, maybe it would be worth a try.

You could also consider changing to a 1 Bedroom Villa which would mean a separate master bedroom for you, a living room, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. You may find the added space, better sleeping arrangement, and conveniences of home a good value for you.

While it’s not ideal, if you have to let your little one fall asleep in the main sleeping area, I recommend a beverage of your choice, and maybe a Mickey bar on your balcony. Take some time to relax and wind down as your little one drifts off to dreamland! Sending you pixie dust for sweet dreams and good sleep for all.
