Hey Moms! I am planning a trip in 2011 to WDW . It's been 15 years since I've had the disney experience and so excited to see it thru the eyes of my 5 year old daughter. It's part of her b-day----any suggestions for where to stay and what to not miss?

Hi, Crystal! Congratulations on planning a first trip for your precious princess! Since it's been a while since you've visited Walt Disney World, I suggest that you order the free planning DVD to get reacquainted with the parks and resorts, and take a tour of the site if you haven't already.  You'll find an exhaustive list of "must-do's" on the DVD and on the site.

My recommendation for a five-year-old girl's birthday is to schedule a few character meals...especially with the princesses. Also, if dressing up is her thing, she might enjoy an appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. You can also plan to have something special delivered on her day to celebrate or plan something fun like a tea or a cruise on the WDW waterways.

For families of small children, I recommend staying at a resort near the Magic Kingdom -- especially the ones on the monorail including The Contemporary, The Polynesian and The Grand Floridian. The Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness are also easily accessible by water taxi to the Magic Kingdom. All of those resorts not only enjoy convenience, but they boast great dining, recreation and activity options, too. I hope this helps give you a start in your planning. Come back if you have more questions!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
