hey, my husband and i are taking our 8 and 11 year old to wdw jan 30-feb 3. i was wondering where a good spot was to watch the illuminations show without traveling too far from our resort. we are staying at the carribean beach resort. thanks!!!!!!:)

Hi, Paula! You're picking the perfect time to hightail it out of Wisconsin. We won't be far behind you!

Illuminations can be viewed nearly everywhere around World Showcase Lagoon in Epcot. To get to Epcot from Caribbean Beach, you'll take the Disney transportation system bus and it will drop you off at the front of the park.

At the end of Illuminations, you could try to be one of the first families to queue up for the bus back to Caribbean Beach by making a run for it at the end of show. But it's so hard to time it right because you never know how long others may have been waiting for a bus before you or who could run faster.

Since your kids aren't too little, they can probably stay up a little later than tiny tots. Even though our kids are smaller, we love hanging back at the end of Illuminations. Most people clear out of the parks right after the show. This leaves a less crowded Epcot. And let me tell you: a vacated Epcot at nighttime is beautiful. The area music still plays in the background, the landscaping is spectacularly lit and everything is so peaceful and serene. It really provides quite the post show experience to the already moving Illuminations performance.

There will be plenty of busses to take you back to your resort. Enjoy the time leading up to it by taking your time!
