Hey! We are headed to the WDW resort in November with our two children (13 and 10) and my parents... This is a once in a lifetime trip, but can't decide where to stay... Any suggestions, tips, or helpful hints would be appreciated! :)

    Hi Lisa!

If this is a once in a life time trip and your budget allows, then I definitely recommend staying in a Magic Kingdom Monorail Resort.  There's nothing quite like being in the center of all of the magic.  There are three resorts on the monorail line:  Contemporary (and Bay Lake Tower), the Grand Floridian, and the Polynesian.  I recommend staying in the tower of the Contemporary Resort or at the Polynesian.  The Polynesian is my personal favorite monorail resort; it's beautiful, relaxing, and romantic!  The Polynesian also provides easy access to the Epcot monorail line; you can either switch monorails at the Transportation and Ticket Center or just walk there from the Polynesian.

If you think you will be spending a lot of time in Epcot, then you might consider staying at the Beach or Yacht Club.  They are both within walking distance of Epcot (about a 10 minute walk) and Disney's Hollywood Studios (about a 20  minute walk).  There's also boat service between those two resorts and both theme parks.

If your budget doesn't allow staying in a Disney Deluxe Resort, then I suggest looking at Port Orleans Riverside.  It's my favorite of the Disney moderate resorts.  It has a lot of services and amenities and a fantastic boat service to Downtown Disney, which is fun and relaxing, especially at night.

Since this is your first trip, I highly recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It's a wonderful book for first time visitors, as it is full of information without being overwhelming.  It will give you a lot of tips and a good feel for everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.  It's also a beautiful book, full of color photographs.

I hope this helps!  Write back with more questions!
