Hey Erin! You are so knowledgeable about the distances & resort offerings- My ? is- With a multigenerational group going including a granny of 86, should we upgrade from value resort to moderate & if so, which one for ease of transport?? THANKS!!!

Switching from a value resort to a moderate resort could add quite a bit to the cost of your vacation, something I would never presume to tell someone to do. But to help you make decisions about your vacation here are some things to think about:

    - Will grandma have a wheelchair, ECV, or other device that takes up a lot space in the room? The value resorts don't have much extra floor space for these items.

    - Can you upgrade to a preferred room at your value resort? These rooms are closer to the food courts and bus stops, saving grandma lots of walking. A preferred room at a value could involve less walking than an outlying room at a moderate

    - Can you stay at the Pop Century value resort? There are dedicated buses for this resort, whereas the All Star Resorts share buses. Sometimes this makes the Pop transport quicker.

    - Does grandma have other mobility issues? The bathrooms at the values are quite small. If she needs more room or grab bars, etc., you should consider requesting a handicapped room for her.

If you do want to switch to a moderate, my favorite is Port Orleans French Quarter. There is a very relaxing, old world feel here. Additionally, there is a pleasant boat ride to Downtown Disney, which gives you another way to travel.

I hope your entire family has a great trip to WDW!
