Hey Disney Moms! We are headed to WDW in just 10 days and were wondering about boat rental and/or fishing options at WDW. We have a family member joining us who, due to health reasons, won't be able to visit the parks but love to boat and fish. Thx

    Hi Nicole,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question. You must be arriving at Walt Disney World Resort in only a few hours - how exciting!

There are definitely some motorized boating options for your family member available at select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. There are motorized boat rentals available at the Magic Kingdom Area Resorts as well as at some of the Resorts located near Disney’s BoardWalk in the Epcot Resort Area.

There are also several Fishing Locations at Walt Disney World Resort, including Guided Fishing Excursions and Dockside Fishing locations. From what I understand, reservations are recommended for these experiences, so please call 407-WDW-BASS (939-2277) or inquire at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel’s Concierge desk when you check in.

Please note that transportation between Resort Hotels can be rather time consuming as there is no direct bus transportation; you’ll have to take the bus to a Theme Park or Disney Springs and then switch to another bus to get to your destination.

Finally, if the health reasons why your family member won’t be able to join you in the Theme Parks are mobility-related, don’t forget that you can rent ECVs at all four Theme Parks. If they have another type of disability, please consult the Services for Guests with Disabilities page for more information.

Have a Magical and safe trip,

    Lynne
