Mom With Kids After Run

Hey Dis Moms & Dad! I can't believe after 33 times to Disney I still need to ask questions. I'm left confused after speaking to DINE. In 2007 while using the Meal Plan my oldest was allowed to order off the kid menu (she's 13). Is this still OK?

    Norean,

In my experience there are things you can do once you are onsite at WDW that some cast members by phone might tell you that you won't be able to do.  Of course I'm not saying that WDW has no rules -- it has them and they are enforced (usually for the safety and concern of all guests) -- but I am saying that rules are a little more flexible sometimes once you are onsite.

For example, I think that technically you are not supposed to use Table Service credits for Counter Service meals, but in my experience it is very easy to do this once you are at WDW (we did it on our last day of a trip, because we only had one Table Service credit left).

I also find that each Cast Member may be more experienced in different aspects of WDW, and sometimes it is a good idea to ask a second Cast Member if the first answer you hear doesn't jive with your expectation.  It simply isn't possible to be an expert on all aspects of WDW, since it is so large and complex, so Cast Members will be more experienced in some areas, and less experienced in others.

So, this is all a long way of saying that I wouldn't be surprised if your oldest kid can order off of the kids menu once in a while (or perhaps for the whole trip).  ;-)

I'm sure you already know this, but she will be required to pay for an adult meal plan, since she is over 9 years of age.

Hope that helps resolve your confusion.
