Hey Mom's and Dad's!!! We have 2 daughters a 6 year olld who's is 38lbs and a 8 year old whos 56 lbs. Wondering what your opinions are on putting them in umbrella strollers. We don't think they'll be able to walk the parks. We will be there for 12 days

    Hi Crystal,

I say, when in doubt, bring along a set of wheels for your kids.  You can always leave them in your room if you find that they are able to walk and/or use them to "cart" your park gear as you maneuver the parks.  You will find many, many children who wouldn't be seen in strollers in "the real world" riding in them at the parks.  The amount of walking at Disney can tire out a seasoned athlete, let alone a small child.  Plus, by having your girls in a stroller at least part of the time, you can traverse the parks at an adult's (rather than a tired first grader's) pace.  I have found several umbrella models that can accommodate larger/older children.  I have a lightweight MacClaren model that holds kids up to 60 lbs. that I picked up second hand on eBay for a great price.  It has a huge canopy and is very easy to fold for loading on and off the Disney buses.  If you are on the fence about bringing a stroller, you could always bring one, and let your girls take turns riding when they get tired.  Another option is renting a single or double stroller in the parks.  A "length of stay" rental will allow you to pay once, and more quickly pick up your stroller as you enter the various theme parks.

    Have a wonderful trip!
