Hey all, back again so I have begun my re, pre, pre packing for our 5day Cruise for next February and I would love advice of the best luggage for a cruise but also how much should we pack lol? I like to be prepared and don’t want to risk having not enough.

    Hi Tatiana!

So happy to have you back and planning another Disney Cruise Line adventure! Your five-night sailing on the Disney Magic with a Marvel Day at Sea sounds like something worth looking forward to about right now.

I'm tempted to join you by pulling out all my luggage as I imagine I'm about to set sail with Captain Mickey just to keep my spirits up! You are asking a member of the "Loves to Pack a Lot" Club...so that I can have lots of options while I'm cruising. Then again, we must make room for all the fun costumes for Pirate Night and fancy attire for formal or semiformal evenings, right?

The good news is that the staterooms are designed so that no space is wasted. There's excellent clearance under the bed for storing suitcases as well ample hanging and storage space in the double-sided closets. My family of four always opts for a single stateroom, and even with two adults and two teenagers we always manage to have space for us all AND all our stuff!

That said, I would suggest wheeled luggage and preferably an easy to spot design/pattern or with some ribbon or tags to make it stand out. The last time I traveled with a plain black suitcase. it took me WAY longer than expected to locate my bag in the storage area before heading to clear Customs. I also bought a Disney Cruise Line duffel bag in one of the onboard merchandise shops on my last sailing to give me extra space for hauling back my cruise treasures!

Fortunately, there are packing lists with suggestions based on the various Disney Cruise Line itineraries. The most overpacking I did was for our Alaska cruise since I didn't know whether we would encounter cold or warm temperatures in early June. And guess what? We saw a mixture of both, so I was happy I had packed lots of layers, boots and bathing suits!

So continue to plan and make those packing lists, Tatiana! All of us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel are HERE for it...and happy to help if you have further questions!

    SEA ya real soon!
