Hello, can you help me understand the dining plan. I am traveling with my wife and two kids, 11 and 5 in late February. I have a table service, a counter service and a snack meal included in my package. What does all of that really mean?

Hi Derren, Thanks for your question, I'd love to help you understand how the fabulous Disney Dining Plan works. Specifically, you will be getting what is called the, "Magic Your Way Plus Dining" plan.

Each person in your party will receive (1) Table Service meal, (1) Quick Service meal and (1) Snack per person, per night of your stay. For example, if you are there for 5 nights, you receive 5 Table Service meals per person.

The Table Service meals are sit down restaurants in a nice restaurant with a Server. Your tip is not included with the Dining Plan. Each Table Service Meal includes:1 entrée,1 dessert (lunch and dinner only) and 1 single-serving, non-alcoholic beverage or 1 full buffet meal.

The Quick (counter) Service meals are more like pizza, burgers, fries, etc that you order at a counter, wait for it to be handed to you on a tray, and find your own seat. Each Quick Service meal includes:
1entrée or 1 complete combo meal,1 dessert (lunch and dinner only) and 1 single-serving, non-alcoholic beverage.

The Snacks you can choose can be valued up to $4. Some examples of snacks are:1 frozen ice cream novelty, popsicle, fruit bar, popcorn scoop (single-serving box), single-serving bag of snacks, single piece of whole fruit, 20-oz. bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Dasani water, 22-oz. fountain soft drink or juice, 12-oz. coffee, hot chocolate or hot tea, single-serving prepackaged milk or juice.

Children ages 3-9 must order from a Children's Menu where available.

Due to the popularity of Table Service restaurants, you'll want to make Advanced Dining Reservations. You can do this now by calling 407-WDW-DINE. I'm out of space, but if you need further help and restaurant recommendations, please send me a follow-up question.
