help! i am a single mom on a budget and im trying to plan a first time trip to DW for my 7 and 4 year old next year, what would you reccommend me do as far as planning a memorable and enjoyable trip, from best times to go, minimal crowds and days to stay

Hi Shakeria! First trips to Disney World are so exciting -- there's no way your vacation could be anything but memorable and enjoyable!

You're smart to be considering the best time to travel to Disney to avoid crowds. Visiting at off-peak times allows you to spend less time in lines and more time enjoying the attractions. If you visit in the fall, winter, or late spring (avoiding holidays), you'll find that the crowds are lower. September, January/February and May are great months to visit Disney.  You'll often find special deals available at those times as well.  I recommend that you register on the Walt Disney World website, and make sure that Disney has your email and mailing address; you might find an offer for a discounted package or room rate in your mailbox!  Also, keep an eye on the Special Offers page so that if any deals are announced, you'll be sure to know about them.

As a mom on a budget, you'd appreciate Disney's Value Resorts. They're often less than $100 per night and resort guests receive special perks for staying on-site, such as extra hours in the parks and free transportation from the airport and around WDW. With two young children, the Disney Dining Plan would help you save money on food. Be sure to schedule a meal with the characters -- definitely a must-do for a first trip!

The number of days to stay depends on your budget, but I'd recommend you plan to spend at least one day in each of the four theme parks. You can't see and do everything in that time, but it  would give your kids a good introduction to Disney.  If you can afford to stay even longer, you'll find plenty to keep you busy!

I'm happy to help you with each step in your planning, so feel free to ask me any questions along the way!
