Help moms&dads, We are coming for 9days in sept and staying at POR. Is it possible to add 2 days to the start of the vacation to the package, or do i have to book a sep package. I would like to stay at a deluxe for 2 days before since we never had.

    Hi Alecia!

I suggest calling Disney directly to discuss your options, as there are a couple.

You can definitely stay in a Deluxe Resort before your current stay, but there might be an issue.  Basically, you will have two reservations. The issue comes up If you plan on having the Disney Dining Plan. The easiest scenario is to assume no Dining Plan.  In that case, you can have a package for your first stay at a Deluxe Resort. Even if you are staying there for only 2 nights, you can buy a 10 day Magic Your Way ticket giving you access to the theme parks while at both resorts.  The issue is the Dining Plan.  If you want to do a package for both hotels (meaning room, tickets, and a Dining Plan) then there is no problem. Just know that your meal credits from your Deluxe stay will expire at midnight on the day you check-out of the Deluxe resort.

The best solution, however, is to do the Deluxe stay after your stay at Port Orleans Riverside.  Regardless of whether you do or don't want a Disney Dining Plan, this is what I always recommend:  going from a lower category resort to a higher category resort.  A Deluxe Resort will be substantially better, in terms of services and amenities, than a Moderate Resort.  If you go to the Deluxe Resort first, then you might feel a little depressed when you have to check-in at the Moderate Resort. If you go the Deluxe Resort last, then it is definitely a "treat" and it is a wonderful way to end a vacation. This would also eliminate the problem identified above with the Disney Dining Plan; in this scenario, you could do a package stay for the first part of your trip and, if necessary, do a room only stay for the couple of nights in the Deluxe resort. You could then pay out of pockets for any meals on the last couple of days.

I hope this helps!  Definitely call Disney directly and discuss this with them. Also, please write back if you have any more questions!
