Hello, help, i keep getting conflicting info. Staying at WDW Jan 10- Jan 17 2009, how crowded is it normally? I chose this time to avoid the crowds that I experienced when we visited in Aug 07. Thanks

We are frequent travelers to WDW in January and thus far it's always been the least crowded time of the year.

We rarely encounter waits greater than 15 minutes. However even during the off-season there are some exceptions. For instance, we've tried to tour the Magic Kingdom on weekend evenings and found it quite crowded. Also, there is always an influx of guests over the weekend that the WDW Marathon is held. In 2009, Marathon Weekend is held January 8-11. I would avoid the Magic Kingdom over this weekend.

On January evenings, we have dined at quick service restaurants in Hollywood Studios where we were the only patrons.

A tricky part of touring in January is the unpredictable weather. We've experienced temperatures so cold that we needed gloves and some days that were so hot that we quickly switched from pants into shorts.

I can't imagine experiencing Summer type crowds in January. The crowds we just experienced in June were definitely double the size of what we usually experience on our January trips.

I enjoyed the parks being open late, only having to pack shorts and swimming late at night during our June trip. January however is less crowded!
