Help! We are experienced Disney World travelers .. But we have never been to Disneyland. We would like to plan an adventure to California but we don't know where to start. Any advice? Fast pass? Dinner reservation? Hotel options? Thanks in advance!

Hi, Susan, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I am SO excited to hear that you’re planning your first visit to the Disneyland Resort! There are several big differences between the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. For starters, the Disneyland Resort is comprised of two theme parks, Disneyland Park, and Disney California Adventure Park, and they’re just steps apart from each other! So, many Guests choose to “park-hop” throughout the day.

Another difference is in the Disney FASTPASS experience. At the Disneyland Resort, we have Disney MaxPass and Disney FASTPASS. Unlike FastPass+, Guests can only make FASTPASS selections on the day of their visit, after entering the theme parks. By using the Disneyland app, Guests can add Disney MaxPass to their theme park ticket, which allows them to make FASTPASS selections directly from their mobile device.

As for dining, you can start making reservations 60 days prior to your visit, either online, or by calling (714) 781-DINE. For a Disneyland Park favorite, I’d suggest dining at Blue Bayou Restaurant. You can even opt for a Fantasmic! Dining Package, once the show returns this spring.

I’d highly recommend staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels, to take advantage of perks like Magic Morning. The beautiful, luxurious Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is a personal favorite, since it’s adjacent to Disney California Adventure Park.

Plus, don’t miss this fab ticket offer for Canadian residents, which can be purchased through April 11, 2019.

    Wishing you Disney magic!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for about 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 7, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
