Hello, We'll be taking the semi-repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles Sept. 2011. I am wondering about bringing a car seat for our 23 month-old daughter. The only time we'd need it is for ground transportation from hotel to cruise ship.

    Hi, Wendy!

The only "hazardous" part of my job as the Disney Cruise Mom is wanting to experience all of the various itineraries which Disney Cruise Line now offers -- so many options, so little vacation time! The repositioning of the Disney Wonder from Vancouver to Los Angeles this fall sounds fantastic -- I love that you'll stop in Canada, Mexico and the US all in 5 days. I'll just have to live vicariously through you!

When my kids were little, it was always a greater challenge to travel with their "stuff" more so than traveling with them. I recommend checking your car seat on board, and once in your stateroom, ask your stateroom host/hostess if they have any suggestions about where to store the car seat during your cruise. I can't make any promises, but more than likely, there may be a nook or cranny which is available and out of your stateroom. If all available spots are otherwise occupied, I think that you could squeeze a car seat in the bottom of one of the closets in your stateroom.

It wouldn't be worth the risk not to have your princess' car seat for the trek to and from the port. I think there's a simple, out-of-the-way solution while on board, and your stateroom host/hostess will be your expert on knowing just where to store it. I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
