Hello, We will be traveling to WDW December of 2011 and have just wrapped up booking our dining plans. We booked for a party of 6 (4 adults, a 3 year old and a 1 year old). Should we have booked for 5 to avoid the 18% gratuity? Thanks

    Hi Kristy,

No, you did the right thing by including your 1 year old in the reservations.  Unfortunately, your 1 year old has to be part of the reservation for a couple of reasons.  The first reason is that they need to know what size of table you will need and how many seats will be accommodated.  The second reason is for safety and fire regulations, every guest must be accounted for when dining in one of their restaurants.  Even though you will not have to pay for your 1 year old to eat in the restaurant, he/she will be counted towards how many are in your party and you will have to pay the automatically charged 18% gratuity because of this....there is no way around it unfortunately.  Sorry for this news, I know it's not what you were expecting to hear, but you are sure to enjoy dining at WDW....it's wonderful!

    Best wishes,
