Hello,we will be in Disney on Halloween and plan to go to the MK during the day, we are not staying for the evening events. Can I still dress my son in his costume and will he be able to collect candy?

You are welcome to dress your son in a costume any time at the Magic Kingdom -- it doesn't even have to be Halloween. There is no trick-or-treating during the day at the MK. This only takes place during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

However, there are some alternative places to collect candy at WDW on Halloween. There is treat-or-treating at Downtown Disney on both October 30 and 31 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Cast members at many of the shops there will be passing out candy. Additionally, there will be music, Halloween storytelling, and magicians there to entertain guests.

    Other Halloween events may include:

    - Halloween face painting at Pop Century
    - Entertainment at the Boardwalk
    - Trick or treating in public areas at the Grand Floridian
    - Showings of the film "Haunted Mansion" at the Grand Floridian and Contemporary
    - A scavenger hunt at Saratoga Springs

Most of the Disney resorts will have some special happenings for the holiday. Be sure to check with the front desk of your hotel.
