Hello, This is our first family vacation and I am so thrilled. Are cameras allowed?

    Hi there, Kambria!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so delighted that your first family vacation will be at the Happiest Place on Earth! The Disneyland Resort is truly a vacation destination for Guests of all ages, so I know you will have an unforgettable trip.

Everyone knows that "Takin' Pictures is Makin' Memories," so I am very happy to inform you that cameras are allowed throughout the Disneyland Resort for personal use. You can use cell phone cameras, digital cameras, or DSLR cameras throughout the parks. Tripods that fold and can fit inside a standard backpack are also permitted, but selfie sticks are not allowed and will be taken at the security checkpoint if brought to the Disneyland Resort. Photography etiquette at the parks also includes not taking flash pictures on attractions as this will distract other Guests experiencing the attraction.

Many locations throughout the parks and at various Character meeting spots offer Disney PhotoPass photography. This is a professional camera service that can capture your magical moments in the parks. You can link and view all of your Disney PhotoPass pictures taken during your trip right in the Disneyland app and purchase any and all of them within 45 days. Another way to obtain your Disney PhotoPass pictures is by upgrading your ticket with Disney MaxPass. This service lets you keep and download all of your Disney PhotoPass memories as well as make digital Disney FASTPASS selections for one small daily fee per person. It has been priceless for us as a way to really maximize or days as well as keep every PhotoPass memory.

I hope this helps, and please return if you need any more assistance planning your Fantasmic vacation!
