Hello, The resort has me identified as an adult, and my two kids, over the age of 10 as children. Won't this mess up my dining plan since they are considered adults when it comes to the restaurants and menus and I paid for them as adults?

     Hi Karen!
When you book your vacation package, you are asked the ages of all the children that are included with you reservation.  This is so Disney can determine the costs of park admission, dining plan and even resort stay.  Anyone 17 and under is still considered a child as far as your resort is concerned, but anyone who is 10 and up is considered an adult when it comes to park admission and dining plan.  Since you were asked the ages of your children at the time of booking your vacation, Disney will be able to sort this out for you with no problem.
With the dining plan, all of your credits will be grouped by your reservation number and not by person.  Upon checking into your resort the cast member will go over the components to your package, make sure to check your dining plan credits for the correct allotment of meals. If you have 1 adult and 2 children(ages 10 and up) on your reservation for five nights you should have 20 TS, 20 QS and 20 snack credits. Since your credits are lumped together by reservation and not per a person,  it gives you the option to use it anyway you want.
At a  Table Service restaurant if you want to order your child an adult meal, that is your prerogative.  If you have enough credits to cover your meal, you server will deduct the credits from your remaining amount of table service credits on the dining plan.  If you should not have enough credits, you will be responsible for paying any part of the meal the dining plan did not cover.  I also have a child (considered a child at the resort, but adult for tickets and dining plan) and I have never had a problem with him being able to order off the adult menu or using his credits for an adult meal .   I hope that you were able to understand all of that and please let me know if you have any more questions, I'm always thrilled to help!
