Hello, I am making Fast Pass reservations in 2 days. I am looking at park hours and I am confused on December 30th it says that Magic Kingdom has 2 sets of EMH that day. One says 12am-2am is that for the 29th into the 30th or is that the 30th into 31st?

    Hi Celeste!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Walt Disney World Resort likes to celebrate anything and everything, so every day is a celebration when at The Most Magical Place on Earth. But you're REALLY going to be living it up because you're ringing in 2019 with Mickey and his Pals!

I love Extra Magic Hours. As a member of #TeamNoSleep, one of my favorite pictures of myself in Magic Kingdom Park was taken at almost 3:00 A.M. when the park was closed and I was literally the only person on Main Street U.S.A.

I pulled out the 5-day Calendar so we can see December 30 right in the middle of the week. It does appear that yes, Magic Kingdom Park will have two sets of Extra Magic Hours on the 30th, opening for one hour before the listed daily park hours and then staying open another two hours just for Disney Resort Hotel guests and those staying at select other resort hotels. So technically Magic Kingdom Park will be open from 8:00 A.M. on the 30th until 2:00 A.M. on the 31st. (My theory is that the calendar system listed the later magic hours first because 12 can come before 8, but the computer didn't realize Disney was talking about late night and not early morning.)

I've spent New Years Eve at Walt Disney World Resort before, and while it can be very fun, be prepared. A few parks often fill to capacity around lunch, so if you plan to visit Magic Kingdom Park or Epcot in the morning and then leave for a midday nap or dining reservation not in that park, you might not be let back in. If you forget your portable charger, you can purchase a Fuel Rod for $30 from kiosks all over the 'World. And keep up with the Disney Parks Blog who will release more New Years news as the date gets closer.

I hope this helped, and We'll See You Real Soon, Celeste!
