Hello, I haven't been to Disney in at least 30years! I have no idea where to begin. We are planning on December for our trip. Any advise, things we MUST-KNOW, first step suggestions, weather opinions, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the Moms Panel, Renee!

From one Ocean State resident to another, I'm thrilled to hEAR of your family's upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

Not knowing whether you have already booked a hotel, I would say start building a Magic Your Way Vacation Package by selecting one of the fabulous Disney Resort hotels. If you are on a tight budget, I suggest a Disney Value Resort hotel, and please don't forget to check any Special Offers that may be applicable to your dates of travel.

Do select multi-day Tickets, then make FastPass+ selections and book dining reservations - including Character Dining - through your My Disney Experience account. I also recommend adding the Memory Maker option and buying tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This special event is a definite "must do" for families visiting the first three weeks of December.

The above being said, I suggest focusing on what's most important to your family. For instance, if you are traveling with young children, check out Planning for Preschool Kids & Little Ones. It's an excellent planning resource filled with useful tips, advice, suitable attractions and so much more!

For a December trip I always pack clothes that can layer, then take off or wear as needed. I have experienced both very warm and very cool temperatures during this time of year, especially at night. However, it won't be nearly as cold as our winters in Rhode Island.

Enjoy celebrating the Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort!

People describe my love for Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line as intoxicating and contagious! My family fell in love with the Disney Magic aboard our first Disney cruise with Captain Mickey in 2006. I personally love to spread pixie dust, as I truly enjoy sharing my Disney experience with everyone! Learn More About Ritzy
