    Kari from MI Asked

Hello, I am attempting to plan out first trip to Disney! My son will be 15 months old. I just want a 1 day pass. Can someone please share with me some tips to make the day go smooth. I also need to find a place to stay. And what kind of tickets do I need

    Hi Kari,

The great news for you is that because your son is under 3 years old, he does not need a ticket to enter a Walt Disney World theme park! He will be admitted for no charge. You will need to purchase a Walt Disney World theme park ticket for yourself. Using the website that I linked, choose the one-day ticket and which date you will be going. Then, you will need to choose which theme park you will visit. There is one price for a Magic Kingdom Park ticket, and a different price for a ticket that will allow you entry into either Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom. You can also choose a ticket that is a Park Hopper, which will let you move from park to park during the day. While you could get this Park Hopper, I would recommend that since it is your first trip and it is only one day that you do not get the Park Hopper. Rather, choose one theme park where you can spend a whole day. Any of the theme parks are great and have activities for little ones; however, if you are only going to visit one theme park for one day, I recommend Magic Kingdom Park. This is where the magic began in Florida!

One of my main tips to parents of young children to make a day at the theme parks go smoothly is to take advantage of the Baby Care Centers. There is one located in each Disney theme park, and they are a great place to change and feed your little one, and simply to take a break when you or your child needs one. As to a place to stay, check out the Walt Disney World resort hotels. There are themes for every taste and a wide variety of price points for many budgets.

I would love to help you plan more Kari; however, I am limited in the space that I have to answer. Please do write back if you have any further questions!
