I heard when you stay at the French Quarter, you get beads at check in. Do they still do that?? This is my first time staying there (and my first staying at a Disney "owned" hotel) and I heard the place (PORFQ) is very beautiful

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jen! Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort is an absolutely enchanting resort, full of mossy trees, cobblestone streets, and lobby smells of beignets that will drive you wild! I adore this resort; it’s my favorite choice of all the Disney moderates!

Yes, when you first step foot off Disney’s Magical Express, you’ll be greeted by the Krewe Leader with beads, cheery coins to toss in the fountain (be sure to make a wish) and more. Don’t forget to stop by the pool with your family to see the Alligator Band Parade Statues, and the beautiful themed Mardi Gras Float pool. And of course, with two bus stops as well as a short walk to the sister Riverside Resort, you’ll be in bayou heaven. I swear I feel like Tiana herself will be right around any corner.

If I can help you find any off the beaten path activities on your magical vacation, please let me know. Ray, Louis and I will be out “playin’ with the big boys!” ~ Lindsey P.
