I heard that starting January 2016 some of the Epcot & Hollywood Studios attractions will be changing tiers within the current Fast Pass system. Do you know what will be changing? Thanks!

    Hi Ashley!

I've been seeing some of the same rumors floating around the Internet lately, and since I'll be visiting in early 2016, I've also been wondering how FastPass+ options might be changing over the next few months.

What will most likely happen at Epcot is that the FastPass+ tiers will change slightly in a couple ways.  First, when Soarin' closes for refurbishment on January 4, 2016, it will disappear from the "Tier 1" list (which also includes IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, Living with the Land and Test Track). The gap that's left in "Tier 1" will then probably be filled by Mission: SPACE until the Soarin' refurbishments are complete next summer.  The other change is that Captain EO is officially closing on December 6, 2015, so that will no longer be a "Tier 2" option.

As for Disney's Hollywood Studios, it's not clear what changes (if any) might be on the horizon for early 2016.  However, with plans in place to take Guests to a galaxy far, far away with new Star Wars-themed attractions and entertainment, it wouldn't surprise me if there was some shifting to the tiers there in the coming months, as well.

I'd keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel for more information as it's available.  I hope that helps, Ashley, and thanks for stopping by with another great question!
