I heard the pro bowl will be in Orlando on Jan 29th 2017, how will this effect crowds the week before and after?

Hi Kerrie! I have verified that yes the Pro Bowl will be played in Orlando in 2017. Any time there is a big event in the area it will mean a possible increase in the numbers in the parks. It is actually hard to find a week where something isn't going on and affecting the parks so the best advice no matter what time of year is to plan well ahead.

Make sure you have your My Disney Experience accounts set up and link your family members so you can all share the same plans. Make resort reservations as soon as possible and purchase tickets and link those to your MDE account. Be aware of the dates when you can make dining reservations (180 days out) and FastPass reservations (60 days for resort guests). Planning a Disney vacation is fun and not difficult but you do need to be organized and friends with your calendar. Missing your opening dining date can mean you won't eat in the castle or dine with Mickey and friends.

January is a great month for a Disney visit. The affect of the Pro Bowl obviously will happen mostly a few days around the actual event. Plan those days for visits to Downtown Disney or maybe some recreation activities such as boating or golf. There is so much to do on property that you can always find a place to go for some magic.
