I've heard that Mardi Gras is a great time to go to Disney from fellow Louisianans! Though I have read a few posts that Mardi Gras was bad because President's Day being the same week. Think I'm safe for 2014 as Mardi Gras is scheduled two weeks after that?

    Hi Amber,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

I think that your instincts are correct.  President's Day weekend does tend to see an attendance bump at Walt Disney World since many children are out of school.  In 2014 President's Day is on February 17, and Mardi Gras is on March 4.  Of these two, President's Day will likely be the more crowded.  While Mardi Gras may boost crowds a little bit, it will not be as much as for President's Day.

When I am looking for predictions of crowd levels at Walt Disney World, I visit the unofficial site touringplans.com.  For a small fee, you can see predictions of crowd levels at Walt Disney World for a year in advance.

So yes, laissez les bon temps rouler, Amber, and head to Walt Disney World to celebrate Mardi Gras!  If you would like more help in planning this trip, please come back and visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We love helping you to plan magical vacations!
