I have heard that the "My Disneyland Birthday Party" with the decorate your own cake option has been discontinued. Is this true? Are there other options for a birthday party with hats and/or cupcakes, etc? My daughter will turn 8 during our upcom

    Howdy Heather,

I hope you are having a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah day! Thank you for writing us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

Yes, you are correct, the "My Disneyland Birthday Party" has been discontinued. The Disneyland Resort has not implemented a new program yet, however you can dine at select table service restaurants and order a special Minnie Birthday Cake. This celebration cake is big enough for the birthday girl and will arrive in a plastic keepsake jewelry box for her to take home. The cake is $15 in addition to your meal. Or you can sprinkle some more pixie dust on the big day by ordering a personalized birthday cake that will feed more than one Guest. Call the Disney cake hotline at (714) 781-3463 to order, they will need at least 72 hours notice prior to your magical date needed.

Be sure to stop by Guest Services and tell them you are celebrating your daughter's birthday. The Cast Member will give her a free "It's My Birthday" button for her to wear; she will be sure to get birthday wishes and smiles all day.

I hope this helps and that you have a pixie-dusted time on your next visit. If you have any more questions, please visit me here and let me know how I can help you plan your magical vacation.

    Wishing you magic!
