I have heard that the Animal Kingdom Lodge is quite the place to visit. Can people visit the lodge, see the animals, or eat there without staying in the hotel? How does this work with parking? (We are not planning on staying at a Disney Resort this trip.)

Thanks for your great question Laura!

YES, you absolutely can visit the Animal Kingdom Lodge (or any other Disney resort) without staying overnight at the hotel.  All you need to do is let the security guard at the parking lot entrance know that you're visiting the resort for X reason, show a picture ID (drivers license, etc.) and you'll be allowed to park in the general parking lot.  "X" reason can be "I want to just take a look at the resort", "we have a dining reservation", or whatever your case may be.

The only reason that is usually not appropriate is if you are visiting a resort simply to park your car and then use Disney transportation to get to your final destination. This, in general, is frowned upon (and often not allowed). This is especially not a good idea at the monorail resorts, since those resorts would often run out of parking spots if people were allowed to do this.

    Hope this helps!
