I have heard that if you are afraid of heights you should not ride Soarin. Can you tell me how high the chairs are lifted? It does not appear that the back row goes as high up - is that right? Would love to ride it but am not a fan of heights.

    Rebecca,

You are correct that the back row (the last row to load the attraction) is the closest to the ground.  I'm not entirely sure, but I'd guess it is less than 10 feet above the ground.  Please be aware that you might feel like you are much higher above the ground, since the effects of flying over many of the beautiful California scenes are very realistic.

If you are just a little nervous about heights, I suspect you will really enjoy this attraction (especially if you are on the back row), but if you are horrified of heights I'd recommend you consider skipping the ride.

By the way, if you become a fan and end up not finding yourself afraid at all, I highly recommend asking to ride in the first row of section B (i.e., section B1) -- it provides the best (but also the highest) views, in my opinion.

    Hope that helps.
