We are heading to WDW March 10 and are signed up for Mickey BBQ. Looking at the reviews I'm nervous if my 12 and 10-yr old would enjoy. We've done the Hoop dee and Aloha (loved both) this time we are revisiting Aloha but curious about BBQ.

    Hi Melissa!

Mickey's Backyard BBQ is a lot of fun, but I don't think it is for everybody.  If they like country music then they'll probably enjoy the singing.  Families go out on the dance floor to dance and children are definitely welcome!  Of course, if they don't like to dance to country music then that may not go over so well.

The food is typical food that you would find at a BBQ in your neighborhood, except there was no fried chicken when I was there and I thought that should have been on the menu.  If you want to see what's exactly served, head over to the independent site AllEars.Net.  There you can find the menu for all of the restaurants at Walt Disney World.  Just click on Walt Disney World and then dining.

I have two boys, ages 12 and 7.  I think both boys would enjoy eating there, especially the unlimited Mickey ice cream bars!  I also think a group of families would have a lot of fun.  I was there with several families and all of the parents talked while the children ate and danced on the dance floor.  However, my children rate this experience lower than the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review (their favorite) and even lower than the Spirit of Aloha.  When I asked them if they would do it again, my youngest would but my oldest said maybe.  I think you should thus try it!

Sorry I don't have a more straight forward answer for you.  Good luck with your decision, and please write back if you have any more questions!
