We are heading to WDW in January with our 4 kids (7, 5, 3 and 1). When booking FP for everyone there will be some rides the 3 and 1 year old will be too small for. Should I not get a FP for myself and plan to use Rider Switch or get a FP?

Welcome back to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Allison!

Doing a little research before you head to Walt Disney World with your little ones is a great idea, and your question about Rider Switch is a good one!

Keep in mind that Rider Switch allows one adult to wait with the non-rider(s) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction, even if no one has a FastPass+ for it. The other adult then gets to ride the attraction once the first adult returns to supervise the non-rider. If Rider Switch is available at the attraction for which you have FastPass+, ask the Cast Member there for a Rider Switch Pass. Because the FastPass+ queue is separate from the standby line, that second adult will still need a FP+ to get into that line in the first place. Utilizing Rider Switch will help cut down on time spent waiting in line, as the second rider will not have to head to the back of the line once the first rider returns from a fun ride. Win-win!

Be sure to check out all of the tips on this great link, too: Planning for Preschool Kids & Little Ones. You'll find so much more information, including details about Baby Care Centers, suggested itineraries, Must-Do activities and so much more.

Have a blast planning your family visit to Walt Disney World, Allison, and be sure to send more questions when you think of them. We love to help!
