We are heading to WDW in 64 days!!! I wondered if we should bring our new, expensive, big camera or opt for the smaller (easier to stash in a bag), not as nice of a camera. I thought we could purchase some of the PhotoPass pics if necessary. Thanks!

    Hi Laura,

I'm going to give you an answer I bet you didn't anticipate; I say bring both cameras.  They will serve different purposes on your trip.

Assuming the small camera is good enough to get decent shots, take it with you when you are touring the parks for the majority of the time.  You'll be glad to have a small piece of equipment that you can easily tuck in your pocket or purse.  However, if you've got a camera with even better capabilities, there's no better place to use it than Walt Disney World.  Grab some well-composed shots of your Disney resort.  Take it for an evening to capture the fireworks.  If you'll only be away from your room for a brief period of time, take the better camera.  You'll be glad you have it.

Of course you can rely on Disney's wonderful PhotoPass photographers for many of your pictures.  That's a great way to make sure that everyone in your traveling party is included in the shot.  However, there will be many times you will want to capture a candid photo and no PhotoPass photographer is around.  You'll definitely want your own camera on you at all times.

    Thanks for a fabulous question!
