Heading to the magic in 33 days!!!! Wondering about some suggestions for our Mom's 60th birthday...is there a way for her to be a star in a show or ride on a float? Room and door decorating- is that allowed? Staying in the Wilderness Lodge. Thanks!

Hi, Kristin!  What a great way to spend a magical birthday like the big 6-0 - in Walt Disney World, surrounded by the people she loves!  I hope my kids remember this kind of awesome when I turn 60!

The "stars" of the shows that allow audience participation or the family chosen to appear in the parade at the Magic Kingdom are chosen completely at random.  There isn't a way to sign someone up to do anything special in this way, but there are plenty of other options to consider.

The Disney Florist has a huge variety of special items for your resort room.  You can do something grand, like Mickey and Pals Big Birthday Wish, or go with something like the Presenting the Royal Princess celebration, where she'll be greeted with a sash on her resort room door, declaring her the Royal Princess.  From there, she'll find a collection of royal gifts.  There are flowers, gift baskets, and other special birthday celebrations.

Make sure that you note it on your room reservation and your dining reservations that it's her birthday.  You never know where you might find some pixie dust sprinkled!

If you click on Customizing Your Disney Celebration, you'll find other celebration options, such as adding a birthday cake to the celebration, picking up special Mouse Ears, or maybe even family portraits to commemorate the big day.  Disney Mom Erin had some done of her family, and they were AWESOME!

You might take her up in the Characters in Flight hot air balloon ride.  Or give her a special spa day during your vacation.  Afternoon tea can also be a special celebration!

I hope you all have a magical, amazing time celebrating!
