    David from England Asked

Hi, we are heading to Disneyworld in July (very excited !) I know that selfie sticks are not allowed in the parks, but are gimbal mounts allowed ?

    Hi David,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I’m so excited for you that your Walt Disney World vacation is right around the corner! I love the countdown time, where you're planning what to bring, finalizing plans, and imagining all the memories you are going to make.

I did some #resEARch, and it looks like you are cleared to pack that gimbal mount along with your swimsuit and Mickey t-shirt, David. In the Park Rules, under Prohibited Items, selfie sticks and “hand-held extension poles for cameras” are listed. Make sure you are not bringing anything to attach to the gimbal to make it extendable, as you may be asked by Cast Members at security or throughout the park to show that it does not extend. It would NOT be magical to have an item confiscated!

Also, while you’re using your gimbal to take amazing photos of all the Disney Details, from gorgeous Cinderella Castle at sunset to the tiniest hidden Mickey, please be considerate of other Guests’ experiences. My buddy and fellow Panelist Lindsey P has some great tips for Disney photography and equipment, which might help as you pack, and please come back and see us if you have any more questions as you count down the days to your visit.

Enjoy your magical vacation this Incredible Summer, David! Don’t miss your chance to play big in the all-new Toy Story Land, where I know your eye for photography will be soaking in all the fantastic details as you "shrink" down to the size of a toy and explore Andy’s Backyard.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
