We are heading to Disneyland for a short 2 days and have purchased park hoppers tickets for 2 days. We fly into California and will be to the park by noon on that Tuesday, we want to utilize our time best so how should we plan, any tips to make our day

    Hello, Diane!

It seems you are ready to take on the #DisneylandChallenge! I love short getaways to the Disneyland Resort. Last year, I took each of our four children on his or her own separate “day at Disneyland with daddy” outing for a short, one-day visit. I let each child plan and decide on attractions, meals and snacks, and entertainment. You won’t be able to experience everything. But that’s OK. The remaining items will leave you with “a wish your heart makes” so that you may dream of returning soon.

My biggest recommendation for short visits is to include Disney MaxPass with your park ticket purchase or purchase the MaxPass add-on after you enter a park. With shorter minimum times between making Disney FASTPASS selections, and the convenience of making those selections from your mobile device rather than the various FASTPASS distribution points, you’ll save time to experience more. Also, lace up some comfortable shoes and make use of those Park Hopper tickets! The two parks are only a football field-length apart from each other. With MaxPass, you can even select FASTPASS return times for an attraction in the other park from your current location. Your electronic fitness device may log more miles than you might usually go in a day. But those will be miles well spent!

If a nice table-service meal is important to you, go for it! I’ve enjoyed the excellent dining options at a table-service restaurant during several different short visits to the Disneyland Resort. During our outing together last year, one daughter even chose to eat at Goofy’s Kitchen. It does typically take longer than a short stop at a quick-service restaurant. But, again, there’s not likely to be enough time to do everything anyway. So just make sure you do the things that are important to you. If, however, minimizing time spent with dining is important to you, be sure to make use of the Disneyland app to place Mobile Food and Beverage Orders.

But I hope your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth isn’t just a constant “go, go, go!” There are many opportunities to slow down and enjoy the magic of the Disneyland Resort. Whether you meet a favorite character, watch a beloved nighttime spectacular, or just sit down a spell with a delicious cup of ice cream, I hope you find special moments to last a lifetime!

    Have a magical time, Diane!
