We are heading to Disney World in September! It'll be an adult trip only so I'm trying to plan things that have a more adult feel. Currently looking into the special tours that Disney offers. Which ones are worth the extra money?

    Hi Casey,

As much as my husband and I love visiting Walt Disney World with our daughters, we really enjoy our solo trips together. A special tour is certainly a great idea for an adult trip. A few of my favorites are the Keys to the Kingdom behind-the-scenes tour at Magic Kingdom; the World Showcase: DestiNations Discovered behind-the-scenes tour at Epcot; and the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure Segway tour at Fort Wilderness. All three of those are geared to adults and require guests to be at least 16 to participate.

I'm also a huge fan of the Wild Africa Trek tour at Animal Kingdom. It does allow children as young as 8.

Other ideas: a fireworks cruise at Magic Kingdom or Epcot. I've done both and recommend them. The IllumiNations cruise at Epcot might even edge out the Magic Kingdom cruise as my favorite.

If you're really adventurous, you might try tandem parasailing at Sammy Duvall's. I'm a big chicken when it comes to heights, but my Disney Parks Moms Panel friends who have done it rave about the experience.

We also like to do a tasting tour at the resort lounges (even if you don't drink, the food is yummy). And we like to nibble around the different countries' cuisine in the World Showcase at Epcot.

I hope that gives you some ideas, Casey. Please check back if we can help in at other way. Enjoy!
