I am heading to Disney in about a week. I have two 7:30 breakfast meals at the Polynesian and Contemporary and am staying at Arts of Animation. Trying to figure out when the buses start. I heard about an hour before the first meals but wanted to confirm.

    Hi Ed,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great question.

The Walt Disney World® Bus Service starts operating 45 minutes before theme park opening hours. That being said, you'll be happy to hEAR that some buses run even earlier specifically for guests with very early morning reservations. When you check in at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, please ask when those early buses run on the mornings of your reservations. Be sure to inquire about the exact pick-up location too.

If you opt to use the complementary bus service for your reservation at Disney's Contemporary Resort, please allow at least an hour for travel. You'll need to board the earliest bus going from Disney's Art of Animation Resort to Magic Kingdom Park. Once you reach the bus depot, you'll be able to walk across the street to Disney's Contemporary Resort. Again, be sure you speak with a Cast Member at the reception desk to receive updated information about transportation schedules and routes. To learn about how to get to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, please read Kay's excellent advice HERE.

If for whatever reason the early bus service is not operating from your resort, simply call a taxi, Lyft™ or Uber. We recently hired a taxi for an early morning breakfast reservation which cost around $12. You'll generally find a few taxis waiting at the front of the resort hotel. However, I suggest calling the front desk about 20 minutes before you need to leave. Alternatively, make a request for a Lyft™ or Uber pick up.

Wishing you a memorable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
