We are heading to Disney in February with our 4 and 6 year old daughters. We are doing WDW Magic Kingdom. I was also thinking about doing Hollywood Studios with them. Should I do Epcot, Animal King. or waterpark (too cold?) also?

    Christy:

I think your plan of visiting Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios is a good one.  There's plenty at both parks for your daughters to enjoy.  Whether to add Animal Kingdom or Epcot, though, is a toss-up, as you didn't mention how many days you'd be visiting.  You can easily spend two days at Magic Kingdom and one at Hollywood Studios.  And if you've got several more days, Animal Kingdom and Epcot both have much to offer elementary-age kids, too.

Animal Kingdom is a solid choice if your girls enjoy animals as well as shows, as that is the park's largest offering.  From Lion King to Nemo, Flights of Wonder to It's Tough to Be a Bug, you'll spend much of your time sitting and viewing, not riding rides.  Although the park gets mixed reviews, our kids love it, enjoy the Safari and animal trails, and we simply go into it knowing that it's not fanciful like the Magic Kingdom....

The decision to go to Epcot is a solid one if you want something for YOU, too.  There are attractions for kids among Future World, but as you make your way to the World Showcase, it may lose its luster--especially if they don't like to shop in the stores in each country.  If your girls wilt after walking for a while, it will be the park that demands a stroller, too, just so you can enjoy your exploring.

As for the water parks, I live in south Mississippi, so I can guarantee that February would be too cold for Typhoon Lagoon.  However, you're from Minnesota, so a trip to Florida may seem like going to the Bahamas!  I'd recommend waiting to see the weather once you get there.  You can always upgrade your tickets on site for the water parks.  And with Orlando's unpredictable Spring weather, you may find that one afternoon in your resort's pool may be all you need--or all the warm weather you'll get.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
