Heading in about 40 days to celebrate my 30th birthday with my son(5). I realized not much is planned for us at the Magic Kingdom on the actual day of my birthday besides early reservations at Crystal Palace. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

    Hi Meghan,

How exciting to be able to spend your birthday at the Magic Kingdom! I cannot think of a more magical place to celebrate this special occasion.

Do be sure to stop by Guest Relations on your way into Magic Kingdom to pick up a "Happy Birthday" button. These are available free of charge, and it is so much fun to hear cast members and other guests alike wishing you a happy birthday all day. Also, be sure to note that you are celebrating your birthday on any dining reservations that you have, including your reservation at The Crystal Palace. While neither getting a birthday button nor indicating your celebration on a dining reservation guarantees anything, it is extra special when a little pixie dust is sprinkled on your day as a result. I will never forget my daughter's eyes one year as our server at The Plaza Restaurant brought her a giant cupcake after her meal for her birthday!

You could also stop by The Chapeau, a merchandise location on Main Street, U.S.A., to pick up special "Happy Birthday" Mickey Mouse ears to further signal to everyone that you are celebrating.

Also, be sure to use your My Disney Experience account to make the Disney FastPass+ selections that you would like for your birthday. Although you are traveling with your young son and I am sure that you want to experience attractions that are interesting to him, perhaps on your birthday you could choose the three initial attractions that are appealing to you for your Disney FastPass+ selections.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Meghan. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
