DH & I are headed to WDW in Dec & have dinner reservations at Chef Mickeys on day we are in MK. Can we walk from MK to Contemporary for dinner or must we take buses? How far? We are young & in great shape. Is dinner couple friendly or targeted

    Hi Ellen!

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your great question. I'm happy to provide you with some additional information.

You have several options to get you to Disney's Contemporary Resort for your dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's. The restaurant is located on the 4th Floor concourse of the resort, just below where the monorail passes through. From Magic Kingdom, you can exit the park gates and walk to the left, past the bus depot area and along the walking path to the resort. It's about a 10-15 minute, enjoyable walk. Alternatively, you can proceed to the right out side the park, and up to the Resort Monorail platform. Just one short monorail stop and you'll be there! As much fun as it is to find any additional excuses to ride the monorail, it sounds like you're in great shape to enjoy the pleasant walk! The choice is yours!

Dinner at Chef Mickey's is served buffet style and filled with fun. Although this dining location is definitely very family friendly, there will certainly be plenty of couples enjoying the fun. Mickey and his friends will visit you at your table, one at a time, for individual photo opportunities as you wish.

If you'd like additional dining recommendations for the two of you, please write me back and I'd be happy to assist you further! My husband and I thoroughly enjoy the many, varied dining opportunities around Walt Disney World's parks and resorts.

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World Ellen!
