We are headed to WDW in August. I was wandering if it is worth the $400 extra dollars to stay at Poly over the Wilderness. There will be 2 adults and 3 children. (DD 9, DS 5, DS 1) Last time we went we stayed at the pop and it was crowded in the room.(4)

    Hi Katherine,

Oh, that's a tough question.  Both Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Polynesian Resort are beautifully themed resorts in the Magic Kingdom area of Walt Disney World.  You can be at the gates to the Magic Kingdom in a matter of a few minutes from either resort, so they're both really convenient for families with small children.  Some people are willing to pay more for a resort on the monorail.  The Polynesian is on the monorail line, while the Wilderness Lodge is not.  (It is accessible to the Magic Kingdom by boat or by a four-minute bus ride).  Another difference that might justify the price difference is that the hotel rooms at the Polynesian are HUGE!  I stayed there just last month and couldn't get over how much room there was to spread out.  While the Wilderness Lodge rooms are bigger and more comfortable than those you stayed in at Disney's Pop Century Resort, they are not as big as the ones at the Polynesian.  Rooms at the Polynesian have two queen beds and a day bed so they will more comfortably accommodate a family of five.

It appears that your big challenge is to decide whether being on the monorail line and the extra space in the room is worth $400.  Good luck with your decision!
