Hi there! We are headed to DisneyWorld this August 20th! My children are 9, 4 and 1. All girls! I have a question regarding the rider swap. How does it work exactly?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Nichole! Thanks for stopping by with your question.

I’m so excited you are planning a visit to the most magical place on earth with your princesses! I bet they can’t wait to arrive. Have you planned out any special princess activities they might enjoy? Maybe a stop by the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique during your visit? This magical salon will transform your little ladies into real life princesses, and with many different packages to choose from, there might be one that can fit into your schedule and budget!

Nichole, my kids have a wide age-gap and so for my family, Rider Switch is something we love and use very often during our visits. Here’s how it works: when you arrive at the attraction, simply alert the Cast Member at the entrance that you are wanting to do a Rider Switch. The Cast Member will provide the first party riding with a lanyard that you will take with you through the queue and exchange for a paper FastPass+ right before you board the attraction. This FP+ is good for up to three guests and can be used at a later time. This allows the party waiting outside with the little ones to enjoy the theme parks and other attractions while they wait, and to enjoy the attraction with little to no wait when they come back. You can also use a pre-booked FP+ together with the Rider Switch service. The process will be the same, but with the FP+ both parties will be able to use the FP+ queue for the attraction.

I hope this helped answer your question. Please do come back and see us again soon for any additional tips or questions you might have about your upcoming stay at the Walt Disney World Resort.

    Have a magical day!
