We will be going on the Hawaii cruise in Sept 2015... SO EXCITED!!! What type of weather can we expect in Hawaii and on the Pacific ocean to Vancouver?

    Aloha, Darla!

I share your excitement and I'm absolutely delighted that you'll be visiting my island home this September. I hope that all your plans for some pre-cruise night stays at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, have worked out. Even though I have most of my family members living in Honolulu, our family visits to Oahu, always have to include a few days at Aulani. Our yearly visits home would not be complete without it.

September is a great time to visit Hawaii. It is warm weather with temperatures usually in the 80's. It does get breezy in the evenings, so just bring a light sweater to layer and you'll be just fine. Traveling from the islands heading east to Vancouver will have similar moderate temperatures, but just be prepared for the  refreshing ocean breeze if you are out on deck. Once you arrive Vancouver, you might get some cooler temperatures in the 60's to 70's though. It begins to cool down around that time.

Your visit to the Hawaiian Islands will absolutely call for packing light. Slippers and sandals will be your go to footwear - since you'll likely be at the beach every day anyway :-). Take pretty sundresses and it's considered 'dressed up' in Hawaii already. Hopefully, you'll have time to enjoy a Luau, or do some shopping at the Aloha Flea Market for souvenirs. Try Li Hing flavor shave ice... or if you go to the Dole Cannery, try the Dole Whip (or pineapple ice cream) with Li Hing powder (dried plum) -- it's a local flavor that you have to try. Did you learn to do the 'shaka' yet? Please do come back and ask us any questions, should you need any additional information as you plan your Hawaiian getaway.

    Hang loose, Darla!
